Who We Are
CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE was established in 2013 by brothers Jeremiah West (now 14), and Joshua West (now 12), young social entrepreneurs with a mission to empower people of all ages to serve as "Change Agents" who look for opportunities to make a lasting impact within their communities. The West children have recently been featured on the Ellen Degeneres Show, Harry Connick Jr. Show, Good Morning America and was even invited to the White House to be recognized by the President for the impact that they have made on the community. Their younger sister, Jordan (8), joined their mission to help others & is having a MAJOR impact on the world in her own "little" way.Check out the story: http://abcnews.go.com/Lifestyle/year-hosts-princess-party-foster-kids-disney-world/story?id=49206443&cid=clicksource_19216223_4_article roll_articleroll_hed
What We Do
The tagline for Champions of Change is Little Deeds, Huge Impact. So what does that impact look like? In the past 12 months, Champions of Change has taken 30 kids affected by foster care and their foster parents to Disney for Christmas, delivered over 5,000 lbs. of food to needy families for Thanksgiving, hosted their 5th Annual Homeless Christmas Party providing hoodies, hats, gloves, socks, haircuts and hot meals to over 250 homeless people, Hosted their 3rd "Loads of Love" Event in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Charlotte, where they gifted the community with 200 FREE loads of laundry, helped load, fold, provided lunch, detergent, bleach, fabric softener and dryer sheets to all who entered the laundromat, hosted princess and paint parties for homeless and foster kids all around the country and assembled 600 "Birthday in a Bag" kits to celebrate foster children's birthday. And that's just in the past year.....The West children's philanthropic efforts has also collected and sent 67,000 lbs of fresh water to Michigan to aid in the Flint Water Crisis, traveled to Kenya to help build a school and distributed book bags, books, games, toys and diapers to refugee children.
