The Tobacco Free York County Coalition [TFYCC] is a group of York County citizens working together to improve the health of adults and children in the community as related to all currently marketed tobacco products: OUR MISSION & VISION Working to reduce the toll of tobacco products on people of all ages in York County, SC. We envision a a tobacco-product-free youth generation, free of harmful nicotine addiction, by 2050. TFYCC has been in existence since ~2005, and was instrumental in getting a comprehensive indoor-tobacco-smoke-exposure worker protection ordinance passed in most parts of York County in 2009-2010. We continue to promote common sense policy regarding commercial tobacco products at both the local and state levels. For example, we helped get the lowest-in-the-nation per-pack cigarette tax raised from 7-cents to 57-cents in 2010.
