Who We Are
Our mission is to provide a safe, affordable and caring "home-away-from-home" for the families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities. Families are stronger when they are together, and this is never more important than when a child is sick or injured. During this uncertain time, the presence of a familiar face eases the strain of medical uncertainty and is proven to aid the healing process. The Ronald McDonald House is known as “The House That Love Built.” When we first meet our guests, they are struggling through dark times. We support them physically and emotionally, enabling them to stand strong for their suffering children. When we bid them farewell, they feel surrounded by love. Ronald ?McDonald H?ous?e Chari?ties Every year, RMHC strives to improve the health and well being of nearly 3.7 million children worldwide. The approach thinks globally and acts locally. RMHC tailors programs and services to address the most urgent needs in each of its communities. A network of local chapters, like ours here in Charlotte, stretch across 52 countries and regions around the world.
What We Do
The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte is a “Home away from home” for families of seriously ill children from across the Carolinas and the country, who are receiving medical treatment at hospitals in Charlotte, North Carolina. During short-term or extended hospital stays, the House will provide a safe haven for families to rest, eat and find support from one another and the community as they cope with their children’s medical needs.
