Fiddle 'n Pig Shindig 2017

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Back for the 12th year, the Anne Springs Close Greenway's annual barbeque and bluegrass festival, the Fiddle 'n Pig Shindig.

Join us for one full day of brews and 'cue starting at 11a and going until 9p on Saturday, September 9th. Enjoy the Palmetto Biergarten and Grand Tasting, which highlights many of the South Carolina breweries located across the border, as well as some North Carolina favorites. The Grand Tasting will take place on Saturday afternoon from 2-6p and give brew afficionados a chance to sip some of the South’s best craft beer.

Tasting tickets will be separate from event admission. Music only tickets will be available for $10 each and ages 14 and under receive free entry. See you at the Shindig!

All tickets purchased before September 1 will be delivered via mail. All other tickets can be picked up at the Biergarten the day of.
Music-only tickets will be available upon entry for $10 each. Ages 14 and under get in for free.

New This Year... Be a V.I.Pig! (limited to 100 tickets)
- Our V.I.Pigs will receive entry to the festival and Biergarten, one extra hour to sample the Biergarten's wares before it opens, a deluxe plate of BBQ with all the fixins from Red Oak, an event t-shirt, and souvenir tasting glass. 
- Tickets are available NOW for $75 through July 31
Tickets purchased before September 1 will be mailed. All other tickets can be picked up at the event.

EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE. No outside food, coolers, alcohol or glass allowed. 

Volunteers have a variety of positions to choose from. You can choose a shorter shift or stay for the day! Volunteer check in is located in the Dairy Barn. The Volunteer Lounge is also in the Dairy Barn with complimentary snacks, lunch, and beverages. You will receive a volunteer lanyard and t shirt upon arrival. 

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Volunteer Check In: This volunteer will assist the Greenway's Volunteer Coordinator, Caitlin Anderson, with checking volunteers in and sending them in the right direction. Caitlin will go over all event details with you before the event via email and phone call. All materials will be available on site as well. 

Parking Attendants: Help us greet our guests and be the face of the Greenway as folks come in to FNP! Parking Attendants will help direct cars to utilize the space in our parking areas. Each shifts requires at least three volunteers. You will also have staff helping as well. Shifts: 9a-12p, 12-3p, 3-6p, 6-9p

Soft Drink Sales: Help raise money for the Greenway by selling our thirsy guests cold sodas and water. We'll need help selling drinks out of the Coke Trailer all day. Bonus is that you'll get a free drink while you work! Shifts: 9am-12pm, 12-3pm, 3-6pm, 6-9pm

Concert Volunteers: The beautiful Comporium Amphitheater will be home to all our musical guests at Fiddle 'N Pig! Meet the bands and have an up close view of the concert as you help coordinate the bands and their needs. You'll help make sure things run smoothly by getting bands cold drinks and making sure that they know when they are up next. Shifts: 10:30a-1p, 1-3p, 3-6p, 6-9p

Admission Booth: Within the admission booth, volunteer shifts include: visitor counter (clicker), wristbands, tickets, and passing out surveys. All positions are important for a successful event. Please see schedule for individual time slots. Shifts: 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-3p, 3-6p, 6-8p

Event Ticket Sales: Located in the admissions tent, you will greet guests as they arrive and help them through the process of purchasing an event ticket. Shifts: 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-3p, 3-6p, 6-8p.

Main Entrance Wristbands: Here volunteers will hand a wristband to guests as they purchase or deliver a ticket to the ticket sales staff/volunteers. The wristband is proof that they can now enter the event. Shifts: 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-3p, 3-6p, 6-8p

Ice Check: Volunteers will make sure Greenway beer sales, soft drink sales, and the Palmetto Biergarten all stayed full with ice. This volunteer will have access to the golf cart throughout the day. Shifts: 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-3p, 3-6p, 6-8:30p

Survey Distributor: Survey volunteers can either remain by admissions or trek around the event handing surveys out to guests. We want to hear what guests have to say about their experience, so we can continue improving from year to year! Shifts: 10:30am-12:30pm, 12:30-3pm, 3-6pm, 6-8pm

Visitor Counter (Clicker): This volunteer position is a great one for people watching. Manually click guests on the hand “clicker” as they arrive. We want to get a quality count of visitors, and this allows us to do so! Shifts: 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-3p, 3-6p, 6-8p

**21 and Over Only

Palmetto Biergarten: After last year's success, the Haigler Club {21-40 YP Greenway Club} will adopt the Palmetto Biergarten! We will need two volunteers at each brewery, with up to 15 breweries on site. Afterwards, enjoy an exclusive Haigler Club Happy Hour from 6-7p and enjoy the event! Volunteers will be assigned to a brewery to serve tastes of different beers from that brewer. Volunteers will need to attend a 15 min pour training to ensure our tastes are beer and not foam! Volunteers must be over 21 years of age. Shifts: Training at 1:45p then pour shift runs from 2-6p

ID Check/Wristbands: You will be checking IDs for everyone who wants to purchase beer. Once you verify their age via legal ID, you'll put a wrist band on them to show that they are checked and ready to purchase beer. The ID check area will be located in two locations - one on the event trail and another right by the beer garden under a tent. Shifts: 10:30a-1:30p, 1:30-4:30p, 4:30p-6p

Greenway Beer Sales: Help raise money for the Greenway by selling our thirtsy guests a nice cold draft beer! We need help selling beer all day. No free drinking here, but you can still have a free soda or water on us! Volunteers must be over 21 years of age and will need to attend a pour training prior to the event. Shifts: 10:30a-12:30p, 12:30-3p, 3-6p, 6-8:30p

Palmetto Biergarten Entrance/Exit Check: Volunteers will make sure those entering the beer garden tent have wristbands that show they are over 21 years of age. Shifts: 1:45-4p, 3:45-6p
