Who We Are

Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council has one focus. Girls. Our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. We received our charter in 1935 and today, we serve a membership of 19,000 girls and adults in eight counties in North and South Carolina. These include Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Montgomery, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York (SC).

What We Do

Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. Girl Scouts, Hornets’ Nest Council focuses on leadership programs to develop strong, independent young women. Our programs include a myriad of enriching experiences, including community service, healthy living activities, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) initiatives, environmental stewardships and more.
