Who We Are
Project HOPE has been serving residents in the Rock Hill community for more than 43 years. Founded in 1975 by church congregations coming together to serve residents who lost their jobs because of the textile mills closing, Project HOPE was Rock Hill's response to an economic reality. Today, Project HOPE is thriving serving in an economic reality:
52% of children in Rock Hill schools live in poverty.
25% of our senior citizens choose to either "Stay Sick or Stay Hungry" - they can afford food or medicine on a daily basis - but not both.
63% of families can't afford a $500 emergency: a temporary layoff, a child sick or a traffic accident.
In all cases, Project HOPE stands ready to serve our neighbors in need!
