The Office of Sustainability recognizes tax day may be stressful and what better way to relieve that stress than through service and volunteerism, demonstrating how joining together in service can transform your life and the lives of others. Service not only improves the community, it has the power to unite people, build bridges, and heal divides.
Campus Green is a favorite place for many people to gather and share experiences. The theme gardens include endangered sunflowers, wildflowers, and native pollinators such as bumble bees, carpenter bees, butterflies, and other insects. This space can show how human and natural systems are interconnected. However, these gardens require regular maintenance to keep them vibrant all year.
The service begins at 11 am but folks may start at 10:30 am if they are available. Our tasks include will include weeding, mulching, and planting annuals and perennials.
