EVENT DESCRIPTION: Students are in for an A-maize-ing time at the Anne Springs Close Greenway’s Fall Frolic. This fun-filled 90-minute program will have students navigating a corn maze, frolicking through a hay bale maze, learning about corn and its various uses, taking a tractor ride to pick a pumpkin in our pumpkin patch and making new friends at our petting zoo. Weekday hours are from 8:30a – 12:15p.
Volunteers will be manning one of several activities based on comfort level and station needs of the day. Below are specific activity descriptions.
POPCORN STATION: The purpose of this activity station is to educate the children on the different types of corn and some of the ways corn is used in our everyday lives.
HAY BALES/HAMSTER WHEEL: Volunteers will help supervise children as they frolic on the hay bales and in the hamster wheel.
CORN MAZE: Your main priority with this station is to make sure everyone knows to stay on the path and everyone comes out of the maze at some point.
WAGON HOST: Volunteers here make sure everyone gets on and off the wagon safely.
There is a first aid kit at the popcorn station and with the greeter at all times in case a band aid is needed or an injury occurs.
