Throughout its history, the Lowry Family Theater at the McCelvey Center has provided students and area residents access to the performing arts. The historic theater seats over 500 guests, has a lovely 1920s ambiance and is noted for its remarkable acoustics.
Volunteers are needed as ushers, bartenders, id checkers, greeters, ticket sales, etc.
Saturday, Jan. 18: Chatham County Line
Chatham County Line is known for their inventive take on bluegrass music. From Raleigh, N.C., the quartet was named Best New Bluegrass Band at the Indie Music Awards in 2006. Since forming in 1999, they’ve recorded seven albums of original songs; their latest release, “Sharing the Covers,” pays homage to musical influences such as Del Reeves, John Lennon, and Beck. Chatham County Line is gaining international success through ongoing collaboration with popular Norwegian singer/songwriter Jonas Fjeld.
