Because litter is an ongoing problem in our community and on Winthrop's campus, we must stay vigilant in our efforts to clean it up and improve the appearance of our communities and campus. The Polar Day Litter Clean Up is sponsored by Keep York County Beautiful and Rock Hill Clean and Green.
This litter clean-up is open to STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF.
UPDATE: Volunteers will meet at the Shack parking lot before 10 am.
- All supplies (gloves, bags, trash grabbers, vests) will be provided.
- All volunteers must complete the attached assumption of risk form.
- All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes.
- Volunteers should dress appropriately for the weather conditions and plan to bring water or a sports drink to stay hydrated during the clean-up.
- For safety reasons, no one will be allowed to pick up litter by themselves – all volunteers will be grouped with at least one other person.
- We can accommodate different needs. If you are in a wheelchair, you may collect litter along sidewalks and in parking lots.
